COMMENTARY: CLASH of CIVILIZATIONS

War within civilizations is more normal than war between civilizations. Today we see war and conflict among Muslims while Westerners are not killing each other nearly as much as they did in the first half of the 20th century. Many Muslims are instinctively supporting human decency against extremist outrages. Dreams of Muslim civilization subduing Western civilization will subside. Muslim civilization will continue to modernize. Conflict will continue but it won't be a clash of civilizations.
